Roche Diabetes Care aims to empower people with diabetes to live active and close to normal lives despite their condition and to actively engage within their diabetes management regimens. Hence it is key to provide innovative solutions for comprehensive diabetes management to both customer groups – people with diabetes and healthcare professionals. One focus of Roche Diabetes Care’s R&D team is on further simplifying the application of medical devices.

The second generation of the Accu-Chek® Mobile blood glucose monitoring system, an integrated meter featuring strip-free technology, significantly reduces the number of steps required to measure blood glucose levels, thus providing more comfort and safety. Another important goal of Roche Diabetes Care’s R&D efforts is to combine powerful technical components to form integrated and effective diabetes management solutions.

One example is the Accu-Chek® Combo system, an interactive insulin pump / blood glucose meter combination. The blood glucose meter not only supports the user in defining the right amount of insulin with its broad data management capabilities, it also acts as a remote control, thus offering a simple and discrete way to operate the pump. Moreover, Roche Diabetes Care continues to strongly invest in clinical trials to provide evidence-based diabetes management concepts and solutions for a continuous and sustainable improvement of diabetes care.
